ABOUT ME

ABOUT ME

I am a clinical social worker practicing psychotherapy in New York City since 2011. In these uncertain times, I provide treatment via a HIPAA-compliant video therapy platform where you can join me for a session from the comfort and safety of your home. My approach is steeped in psychodynamic tradition.  I believe that a deeper understanding of yourself leads to meaningful life changes, and I will be your partner in this transformation. I also incorporate elements of a more pragmatic cognitive approach into my work, which helps you to gain a greater awareness of the connections between thoughts, feelings, and actions. While I enjoy working with patients from all walks of life, I  have also been focusing my clinical work on treating creative professionals and addressing the special challenges they face.

ABOUT THERAPY

Therapy is an investment in the most important relationship of your life: with yourself. I work collaboratively with my patients to help them gain self-understanding and to support them as they adopt new attitudes and approaches to various life situations. It is essential to keep in mind that therapy is not a magic pill or a quick fix: therapy is a healing process that necessitates participation and investment from the patient and therapist alike. But in the end, making small changes to self-defeating behavior and coping with feelings of sadness, fear, and pain can bring life-altering results.

In more practical terms, if we decide to work together, we will meet once a week (or more often, if needed) for 45 minutes. My approach is to start where the patient is, and it is my priority to create a safe, comfortable emotional space for my patients.
